Digipack designing

When starting work on your digipack considering the following:

1) Look at your research - what cultural references can be used? What colours? What iconography? What representations are appropriate? What fonts fit? What are the expectations of your potential audience?

2) Workout who will be your performer - do you need to arrange a photo-shoot? Before then can you use place holder images?

3) Front cover - will you have the artist/performer on the front cover, or will be it more abstract?

4) Research appropriate fonts - dafont.com is a good resource.

5) Be creative in your planning - use paper to sketch out ideas, try different fonts, different ideas - post all on your blog and compare. Get teacher/peer feedback.

6) Look for an appropriate template: try here. How will you use each panel? Can it be used creatively?
(To download the template hold control + click on the apple icon next to the tempate you need. Choose Save Link and choose way to save the pdf. Next open the pdf with Photoshop.)

ALWAYS REMEMBER - THIS HAS TO LOOK LIKE AS THOUGH IT COULD BE FOUND IN HMV. WE'RE LOOKING FOR PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS, SO BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF: DOES THIS LOOK LIKE AN AUTHENTIC ALBUM COVER? COMPARE YOUR WORK WITH REAL MEDIA PRODUCTS.
